A friend of mine in Brussels told me that he had seen Fran\u00e7ois Mitterrand (who had famously appointed Jacques Attali, an impressive intellectual with no knowledge of economics, as his adviser on the economy<\/strong>) give an interview on french television. He was standing in front of a wall of bookshelves. The interviewer asked him if there was any book on economics among them. Mitterrand thrust his chest forward and said with gusto, \u00ab\u00a0not one\u00a0\u00bb. And of course, a few weeks later, France had a nice economic crisis!<\/em><\/p>\n
