En voici l&rsquo;abstract&nbsp;:<\/p>\n<p><em>Abstract: This paper investigates whether since the 1980s neoclassical economics has been in the process of being supplanted as the dominant research programme in economics by a collection of competing research approaches which share relatively little in common with each other or with neoclassical economics. A shortlist of the new approaches in recent economics includes game theory, experimental economics, behavioral economics, evolutionary economics, neuroeconomics, and  on-linear complexity theory. Two hypotheses are advanced \u2013 one regarding the relation between economics instruction and economics research and one regarding the nature of the economics research frontier \u2013 to describe social-institutional practices that contribute to the replication of economics as a field. Two further hypotheses are advanced \u2013 one regarding the boundaries of the field and one regarding how the field appraises itself \u2013 to create a historical\u2013methodological  framework for evaluating the question of change in economics and change in recent economics in particular. Finally, the paper distinguishes three leading explanations \u2013 the \u2018breakdown\u2019 view, the \u2018takeover\u2019 view, and the \u2018maturity\u2019 view \u2013 of why neoclassical economics no longer dominates a mainstream economics.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Il ne faut pas surestimer l&rsquo;influence des approches non n\u00e9oclassiques sur la discipline. Si on prend la <a href=\"http:\/\/faculty.chicagogsb.edu\/luigi.zingales\/research\/PSpapers\/nber_cites.pdf\" hreflang=\"fr\">liste des travaux les plus cit\u00e9s en \u00e9conomie depuis 1970<\/a>,  Il est exact que l&rsquo;article de Kahneman et Tversky sur la \u00ab\u00a0prospect theory\u00a0\u00bb est le second toutes cat\u00e9gories&nbsp;: n\u00e9anmoins la liste reste tr\u00e8s marqu\u00e9e par des articles tr\u00e8s n\u00e9oclassiques en finance, et de l&rsquo;\u00e9conom\u00e9trie.<\/p>\n<p>On peut n\u00e9anmoins constater qu&rsquo;apr\u00e8s les querelles de chiffonniers des ann\u00e9es 70 (les keyn\u00e9siens et les mon\u00e9taristes qui empoisonn\u00e9 des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations d&rsquo;\u00e9tudiants&#8230;) la pluralit\u00e9 des approches est devenue, comme le constate l&rsquo;auteur, la norme; tandis que l&rsquo;\u00e9conomie devenait plus exp\u00e9rimentale, moins id\u00e9ologique, plus orient\u00e9e vers des probl\u00e8mes pr\u00e9cis. Paradoxalement, c&rsquo;est alors qu&rsquo;elle devenait plus int\u00e9ressante que l&rsquo;\u00e9conomie a connu la plus forte d\u00e9saffection&nbsp;: le nombre d&rsquo;\u00e9tudiants a subi une chute libre, tout comme le prestige des \u00e9conomistes, pass\u00e9s dans l&rsquo;imagerie populaire de grands manitous de la r\u00e9gulation conjoncturelle par le keyn\u00e9sianisme hydraulique \u00e0 individus ennuyeux, incompr\u00e9hensibles, id\u00e9ologiques, et se trompant tout le temps.<\/p>\n<p>Cela s&rsquo;explique de la fa\u00e7on suivante&nbsp;: l&rsquo;enseignement de l&rsquo;\u00e9conomie a toujours beaucoup de retard sur l&rsquo;\u00e9tat de la science. La traduction de la recherche en programmes d&rsquo;action op\u00e9rationnels, qui permettent une meilleure compr\u00e9hension de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9, voire des prescriptions pratiques, est elle aussi tr\u00e8s longue. C&rsquo;est un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne normal, qui d&rsquo;ailleurs se rencontre dans toutes les sciences. Il faut du temps pour qu&rsquo;une conjecture devienne une th\u00e9orie, et que cette th\u00e9orie devienne acquise par tous; ce processus est un mode de s\u00e9lection qui filtre autant que possible les conjectures s\u00e9duisantes mais incapables de d\u00e9passer ce cap. Entretemps, il est sage de limiter l&rsquo;apprentissage aux choses connues.<\/p>\n<p>Au passage, c&rsquo;est l&rsquo;occasion de rappeler que ceux qui se plaignent d&rsquo;une \u00e9conomie autiste enferm\u00e9e dans un paradigme \u00e9troit se trompent non seulement de d\u00e9bat, mais surtout d&rsquo;\u00e9poque.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>C&rsquo;est la th\u00e8se d\u00e9fendue de fa\u00e7on assez convaincante par cet article (merci \u00e0 New Economist pour le lien).
